The highest tops 🇮🇹

Unlike other holiday destinations where tourism dominates, our land is the ideal location for an authentic break — whether you are looking for a brisk walk on the highest summits of Southern Italy with views extending to two seas (Ionian and Tyrrhenian) and Sicily, a demanding mountain trek, a daredevil canyon adventure down steep gorges, or simply a relaxing break in unspoilt natural countryside.

The Pollino National Park is the prime location for a walking holiday. Serra Dolcedorme, rising to 2267 meters, is obviously the flagship destination for many hikers, although there are surrounding mountain ridges that are equally spectacular and challenging. Amongst them are Monte Pollino, Serra delle Ciavole, and Serra di Crispo, where ancient Bosnian Pines (Pinus heldreichii) still climb the rocky highest crests of this mountain range of breathtaking beauty.
