Wild Orchids Photo Hunting 🇮🇹
🟢 Difficoltà: Facile • 📏 Dislivello: 200 m • ⏱️ Durata: 4 h • 🥾 Lunghezza: 5 km
As beautiful as they are rare, wild orchids dot the mountain meadows and beech forests of Pollino National Park throughout spring and summer. The botanical photo-hunting season for the rarest species begins in March and extends through September.
In a single guided field trip, you can explore distinct micro-climates, photograph dozens of wild orchid species (from 300m along the Lao River up to high-altitude plateaus), and capture the vibrant flora of Southern Italy with professional botanical guidance.
The Mercure Valley (Rotonda, Castelluccio, Viggianello) as well as the Frido and Sarmento Valleys offer extraordinary botanical hotspots for nature photographers.
